Sandra is a single mother of three children who has overcome several attempts on both her and her children's lives. The situation rendered her and her children homeless multiple times as they were often evicted as she couldn't meet the rent and feed the children. She was then faced with a cancer scare. With the right treatment and care she is now cancer free. This was then followed by symptoms of lupus that causes immense pain when flare ups occur. She has managed to obtain some stability in getting an apartment however food is most times a challenge along with finances to meet medical needs for both her and her kids.
She is willing to work but given the medical challenges was deemed medically unfit to work. This is has left her in despair as the state only provides a basic fee that barely helps to cover the rent.
