Hi! It's me, Kimberly! Within the past year and a half, I have had multiple diagnoses. An Ovarian teratoma that resulted in the loss of my ovary and fallopian tube. Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis, which affected blood flow in my brain, Vasculitis, CRPS, Long Covid and Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease.
Rheumatology has proven to be quite a complex area of medicine. In Trinidad, there are limited resources and rheumatologists. Thus far, I've spent close to a 100k in medical expenses and I am still currently spending which has depleted my savings.
My case has proven to be a difficult one and I have been blessed to be accepted by the Mayo Clinic in Florida for treatment and clarity as they are equipped with necessary resources.
The objective of this 'fund me' is to raise part of the funds required as I also work tirelessly to come up with the other portion to visit the Mayo Clinic. Treatment is estimated at around 15K USD excluding flight and accommodation.
My autoimmune attacks often causes lymphedema(swelling and water retention) , pruritus (itching) , urticaria (rash) as well as blood clots. It affects multiple parts of my body which can be quite painful and uncomfortable affecting my joints, muscles, blood vessels and my day to day life. There are so many unanswered questions which I am hoping to gain clarity from the Mayo Clinic.
I try to remain as positive as possible but it is quite a lot to deal with. To anyone who wishes to donate, I wholeheartedly appreciate your contribution in advance! Thank You.
