Hi, my name is Shae, and I’m asking for help for our dad, Parris Persaud.

A few days ago our world changed when Daddy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. It’s the hardest news our family has ever gotten. We noticed changes in his health a few weeks ago and hoped that whatever it was, we caught it early. Unfortunately, it had already spread to his liver, and is touching major blood vessels. That means surgery isn’t an option.

Daddy is the backbone of our family and the life of every party. If you go anywhere with him, you’ll stop every few steps while he greets a friend or old co-worker. He’s known everywhere for his charisma, charm, and jokes.

But more than that, he’s the most loving, generous, and humble man we know. He’s always the first to help someone and the last to ask for help himself. He may not say “I love you” 10 times a day, but he shows it. His love shows up in small things: giving you his last dollar and saying he’s “alright” so you won’t worry, traveling over seas with some food from his previous meal just so you could taste what he was eating on a next island, and simply showing up any time you need him like Superman

Now he’s the one who needs us to show up.

Treatment, scans, medication, and care costs are adding up fast. We’re doing everything we can, but we can’t cover it alone. Time is critical, and any donation — big or small — goes directly to getting Daddy the treatment he needs so we can have more time with him.

Our daddy means the world to us. We need more time to show him how much we appreciate everything he’s done for everyone around him. It can’t go unnoticed.
