There is a saying life isn't always fair, just eventful. Since my cancer diagnosis that's something I find myself reminding myself often.
Last year I became very sick and have been on sick leave ever since. At the time, I sold my car to pay for my first surgery, believing that it would fix the problem. Unfortunately, after going through that, I found out that the reason I had been so sick was because I had cancer.
Hearing those words changes everything. It's hard to explain the feeling, but in that moment it feels like life flashes before your eyes.
Since then it has been a very difficult journey. I had to borrow money to have my second surgery, and now i'm praying that i won't need chemotherapy or radiation so that i can focus on healing and eventually return to work.
I never imagined I would find myself in a position where I'm unsure what comes next or how my bills will be paid. It has been overwhelming at times, but I continue to hold on to faith and remind myself that God is good.
Starting this fundraiser was not an easy decision for me . I find it very hard to ask for help, even when times are tough. However, many people encouraged me to try, so here I am.
