Hi everyone,
Last year, Sheldon was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a rare form of blood cancer that affects plasma cells. While there is currently no cure, treatment can help bring the disease into remission.
After several rounds of chemotherapy at MT Hope, followed by maintenance medication, we were hopeful that his levels would remain low and the cancer would stay in a smoldering state. Unfortunately, after a few months, his levels began to rise again.
Our next step is for Sheldon to travel to Colombia for an autologous stem cell transplant, which offers his best chance of achieving deep and long-term remission. This procedure uses his own healthy blood-forming stem cells to replace bone marrow affected by high-dose chemotherapy.
Our father, Sheldon Edghill, is one of the kindest, most generous and honest men we have the privilege of calling our dad. He is the type of person who is always there for others & always willing to lend a helping hand or give whatever he can to someone in need. He is a loving husband and father, and an adored grandfather to his four grandchildren, who receive that same love tenfold.
We are humbly asking for your support to help raise USD$35 000 / TTD$245,000 to help make this journey possible. Funds raised will go toward airfare for Sheldon and our mum, inpatient hospital accommodations for one month, nearby accommodation for the second and third months, and other essential travel and treatment-related expenses.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference and bring us one step closer to getting Sheldon the care he urgently needs and bringing him home to continue enjoying life with his family and four grandchildren, whom he absolutely adores.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Sheldon in your thoughts and prayers. Our family is deeply grateful for every act of kindness, generosity and support during this difficult time.
We continue to pray for fair winds & following seas!
