What started as a cough and cold, treated with medication and expected to disappear, morphed into something else. The cough remained but with a lump on her neck and strong encouragement from the workplace to investigate, Mercedes soon discovered, by way of a CT scan, the mass above her heart, and later through biopsy, indication of an aggressive type of lymphoma. Tests are still ongoing to determine more information, and treatment options are being explored. However, Mercedes needs help from her friends, family, and the wider community to assist with offsetting the expenses associated. As her sister, I am honoured to provide as much support as possible, but we can only do so much.

Tests confirmed Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma on 11.11.2024. Chemotherapy treatment starts on 19.11.2024.

Rock Against Lymphoma: Part I at Opa Live Lounge, Macoya, raised $4,300.00. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and performed. The contribution will go towards outstanding medical bills. The next event will be at Planners Sports Bar, San Fernando on 23.11.2024.

Update 3 -

Rock Against Lymphoma II at Planners Sports Bar, San Fernando, while it didn't yield a large crowd, still raised $3,955.00 with the majority being donations, and a few ticket sales, with some to be added. We say thank you to the artists for giving their time and for the few who attended and made it count.
