My name is Nekisha Pierre. Lovingly known as Nikki. I enjoy singing, cooking and bringing joy to others. GOD has blessed me tremendously throughout my life. Moreso when I became blind seven years ago. The first year was extremely difficult and challenging. However GOD held my hand through it all. I did not allow Blindness to steal my joy or stop me from doing things that brought me happiness, especially being a good mother to my young son. Recently my journey took an unexpected turn where I became an amputee. As of last year June I got a bone infection in my right leg. After a four month battle it was finally amputated on October the 14th. This was partly due to complications from diabetes which I battled with from birth. However I am determined to walk again and by GOD'S GRACE return to a life filled with confidence and vitality for it is my passion to help other disable persons live a better quality of life. I was never a person to complain, burden others or ask for help but This campaign is necessary to help me in walking again and be independent once more. Your contributions would aid me in obtaining a right prosthetic leg and the additional cost that comes with it. Therapy, astethics etc. It is my Prayer that this campaign touches and encourages you to contribute to my mobility and Independence. It is also my Prayer for others reading this who may be experiencing similar circumstances to be encouraged to seek help for themselves and others. Wether disabled or some other unfortunate circumstance They to can rise above their situation by GOD'S GRACE just like me.
