The Friends of Botanic Gardens of Trinidad and Tobago (FoBGTT) was formally established as a nonprofit organization in November 1997, and comprises volunteers with a common interest in supporting and furthering the work of the Royal Botanic Gardens, based on international standards.

Since its inception the FoBGTT has undertaken many activities and projects of interest to its members, such as identification and mapping of the plants in the Gardens, various competitions, activities associated with the commemoration of the 200-year Anniversary of the RBG. Some of these activities involved seeking external funding.

The current project led by the FoBGTT is the Garden with Wings TT (GWW), a demonstration pollinator garden featuring native plants and butterflies/moths. This was conceptualized by Serina Hearn, who continues to spearhead its development.


Planned projects of the FoBGTT include revitalising previous projects and outreach activities as well as:

* Completion of Informative Boards and Labels and Installation of signage in GWW.
* Prepararation and maintainance of a database of flora and fauna in the GWW.
* Administration for FoBGTT Facebook page and website
* Photographic record of flowering plants in the RBG for the database database

Donations received through your kind generosity will offset the cost of these works and support our volunteers with the necessary tools and resources.
