Blacknificent is an Independence Day concert put on by two Trinidad & Tobago artistes, SpiceY & Ajibola. The concert features music performances from both dynamic women. Ajibola, a multi-percussionist and captivating vocalist, will be performing some original music from her upcoming album "Bliss", as well as covers from some of her favourite artistes. Accompanying Ajibola on the guitar is Selvon "Mistah Shak" Noel" a well-known and influential Calypsonian/musician in Trinidad & Tobago, and on the bass guitar, the relaxed and infectious playing of quite an experienced musician, Rodney Alexander. These three musicians have worked together on many projects and they are a force to be reckoned with in any music space.
SpiceY is a Calypsonian who has been indelibly stamping her brand of music, performance & lyrics into this music space for near three decades. Her lyrics, stage presence & powerful vocal performance can be compared to none. She will be performing some of her original work accompanied by ace musician Atiba 'Chike' Williams on the keys. Sharlan Bailey on guitar & background vocals along with Young Iennesha 'Ijellie' Bailey (granddaughter of Winston ‘The Shadow’ Bailey). Ijellie will also feature on the bass recorder for one of SpiceY's selections.
