My name is Gertrude Francis and I am a pensioner. After collapsing from haemorrhaging, I was diagnosed with diverticulitis and given a colonoscopy bag which I have had for the past two years.

I was only meant to have it for six months, but due to the pandemic, the public hospital cannot provide a timeframe for when it will be reversed. As a result, the bag is causing ongoing complications and two months ago I was rushed to the hospital for another emergency surgery.

I was advised to seek help in the private hospital system and was relieved to hear they can perform the reversal….. at a cost of $75,000. I cannot afford to pay for this surgery but am very concerned that if the bag is not reversed I will suffer even further complications.

I am now appealing for assistance to help pay for this surgery that could potentially save my life!
